Set up in 2022, we have brought the worlds fastest growing sport to Weymouth and now have well over 170 members.

Pickleball is most commonly played as a doubles game, and our sessions are based around a rotation system so you are playing with different people every game. The emphasis is about having fun in an active and engaging sport.
We run numerous 2 hour sessions every week - sometimes several a day. We try to accommodate all needs so we run sessions both during the day, evening and weekends.

We are based at Redlands Sport Centre. Redlands has 2 main playing halls giving a total of 10 potential playing courts. The centre is currently undergoing refurbishment and has a newly opened cafe, run by some of the club members.
Pickleball is a fun and fast-paced paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. It is typically played on a rectangular court with the same dimensions as a badminton court. The game is usually played as a doubles sport, but singles play is also common. Players use solid paddles to hit a plastic ball over the net, aiming to score points by making the ball land within the opponent's court. Pickleball is known for its accessibility, making it suitable for players of all ages and skill levels, and it has gained widespread popularity for its engaging and social nature.

As the club has grown, we are now able to run various sessions targeted at specific abilities and playing styles. From steady paced recreation sessions with slower balls to full on highly intensity sessions for those wanting full on hard play.
The club participates in various leagues and tournaments. Members also have the opportunity to go to pickleball festivals, friendly matches and coaching sessions with other local teams and players if they wish.

The club isn't only a great way to get your sport fix, it is a also a fantistic way to meet new people and socialise. As the club grows we are fitting more and more purely social events into the calendar from quiz nights to summer barbecues.

Redlands has been taken over by Active Dorset 2 years ago and continues to make improvements to the site.It has up to 10 courts over 2 sports halls although mainly the club play in SH1 which has 6 courts.

This sessions is suitable for those who want to play in a less competitive environment. We will use the slower during this session and hard hitting and 'body bagging' will be discouraged. This session is suitable for those who want a more gentle work out and are maybe concerned about being hit by a fast moving ball.

The dimensions of the court are the same as a badminton court, which makes it very easy to use existing badminton courts for pickleball play.
